I want to do that again.
I've decided every year I will take a drawing from five years prior and redraw it. I think five is a good full number to jump back to. I'll probably collect a small sample of drawings and ask people which one they think I should redraw. The deadline to complete it is by the end of the year.
I like the idea. I started to think about one drawing of mine that I still to this day love dearly. I put a lot of love into that drawing so it is very special to me. I then wondered if maybe I could use that as my redraw this year. My redraw would have to be of a picture from 2006 and I honestly thought the one I had in mind was much older than that.
I am so pleasantly surprised to discover that it was drawn in 2006. So I plan on redrawing Apocalypse by Cross.
I am considering some changes. I am really horrible at designing clothing and Apocalypse and Genesis have had their clothes go through many revisions and alterations before I've settled on their two standard outfits I use now. The outfit Apocalypse has on in "Apocalypse by Cross" is actually the second revision of his outfit. I had no idea what I was doing as I tried tossing on accessories to make it more interesting and added a scarf to make him more mysterious. Yeah. I know I know. I drew it a small handful of times to see if I could like it and it didn't work. Thankfully.
I won't be redrawing this outfit and instead I will either opt for the original outfit I designed for Apocalypse or his standard outfit I use now. (Any input on what you think I should do?)
The other major change I am considering is the trident. I have long retired the trident in my mind. It doesn't seem like a weapon Apocalypse will use and even though I haven't drawn it, I picture him using more of a polearm that is similar to the glaive or voulge.
So I am not sure if I should substitute the trident with the debut of Apocalypse's weapon that I imagine him using now.
